The body of a child was found hanging in Dhamairhat

Gaurab Prasad Saha, Dhamairhat (Naogaon) Correspondent: Police have recovered the hanging body of an aboriginal child with an arrow (baranga) wrapped around his neck at his house in Dhamairhat, Naogaon. It is learned that the incident took place in Dhamairhat Union Beniduar Mission Dakshinpara area of ​​the upazila on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Basanti Marang, 11. She is the daughter of the late Daniel Marang of that village. According to locals and her family, the child’s father died and her mother Luchi Tapan went to Dhaka to provide for the family and left the girl with her uncle to work in people’s homes. Mama Emil Tapan said, “I used to take care of her as her mother was not in the area. He played all day as he wished, moving around, back and forth. He didn’t come for lunch last Sunday. Then, after much searching, I went to his house at night and found him hanging. ” Confirming the incident, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Momin said, “As soon as we came to know about the incident, I and my accompanying force rushed to the spot and recovered the child’s body and sent it to the morgue on Monday for autopsy.” Suddenly on Thursday afternoon, the locals saw the body floating in the pond and informed the police. Upon receiving the news, the police recovered the body at around 11.45 pm and sent it to the morgue for autopsy on Friday morning. Speaking to Jahinur’s uncle Nur Islam, it is learned that his nephew Jahinur used to get drunk and gamble. He further speculated that while playing intoxication or playing cards, there may have been a conflict between the friends due to which he was killed and his body was floated in the pond. He demanded punishment by identifying the culprits through proper investigation. When contacted by Abdul Jabbar, the owner of the pond, he said that he used to eat with his son at his house and sleep at night in the house built to guard the pond. Suddenly I found out that Jahinur’s body was sitting in the pond. But I have no idea how he died. Raninagar Police Station OC Md Shahin Akand said the body was sent to the morgue for autopsy to find out how Jahinur died. A UD case has been filed in the incident. However, he said that a proper investigation is underway into the incident.
