Husband and wife injured in bomb blast injured in hospital, detained-3

Bakkar, 26, and his wife Madhubala alias Madhu, 24, were injured in an explosion while making a bomb at Daulatpur in Kushtia. The incident took place at Bilgathua village near the border of Pragpur union of the upazila around 12 noon on Thursday. The injured Bakkar and his wife Madhubala were rescued and sent to hospital for treatment.

Police have arrested 3 people in this incident. They are Abul Kalam, 45, son of Yakub Mandal of the same village, Biku, 40, son of late Amirul Master and Raihan, 22, son of Taher Ali.

Kushtia Sadar Hospital Residential Medical Officer (RMO) Ashraful Alam said the bomb had injured various parts of the body including hands and face. The condition of the injured Abu Bakr is critical.

Rajshahi Metropolitan Detective Police have arrested three black marketeers for selling TCB products in the open market.

They were arrested from the city’s Masterpara raw market warehouse on Wednesday night and police seized 1,200 liters of oil, 165 kg of sugar and 40 kg of pulses.

The arrested are TCB dealer Rezaul Karim, his associate Jalal Hossain and Sagar Sheikh. At a press briefing at the city headquarters on Thursday afternoon, Commissioner Abu Kalam Siddique said they had been arrested in a sting operation.
